Venice

Just a short 2 hour drive down the coast sits the little beach town of Venice. Often times when non-locals get into town and drive to LA they want to go check out Hollywood or some other fancy famous business like that. Personally my favorite tourist spot is Venice. The Venice boardwalk is a super excellent place to have a good time. There are shops with everything imaginable and tons of friendly folks. The beach sits adjacent to the boardwalk and provides a tight spot to kick it after you mow down on some food from a vendor along the way. The best part about Venice in my opinion is the skatepark though. I can't skate to save my life, but there are some people who are nasty who skate there regularly. Walking over and watching is wicked entertaining. Other spots to check out are the freak show, the outdoor gym, the adult playground with ropes and monkey bars, and the street performers that are scattered up and down the boardwalk. Overall Venice is a solid spot to check out on a weekend.
